Evolve.

Evolving from a “That’s how we’ve always done it” mentality is much easier said than done until you find yourself in that actual position.

I loved being an RDH. Learning all kinds of dental philosophies by temping with all sorts of wonderful Doctors, RDHs (Registered Dental Hygienists), EFDA’s (Expanded Function Dental Assistant), Assistants, Office Managers and Receptionists. I loved caring for people, their oral hygiene, learning about their lives, and seeing transformations when a patient followed the home care routine that I customized for them. The results floored me; the pride of knowing that they had evolved their smile to be HEALTHY and beautiful

Once they knew better, they DID better.

As I step into the next phase of SubstiToothFairy, I’ve realized that I need to continue EVOLVING as an expert so that I can protect and lead the dental community in fulfilling our dire need to cultivate bonds and relationships so our patients can be served FULLY STAFFED with compassion, one smile at a time.

With help from experts & mentors, I’ve started learning more about staffing systems and procedures, including partnering with the American Staffing Association. I’ve learned about health care staffing legislation and law which has motivated me to earn their Certified Healthcare Staffing Professional Credential.  I have realized that in order to operate a full-service Dental Staffing Service will require more of me beyond the RDH role & Dental Cupid, and that I actually need to EVOLVE into a staffing professional that will protect, honor, and serve to the highest standard I can possibly achieve.

I hope you’ll support and follow my journey as we transform and evolve SubstiToothFairy from a manual, DIY operation, into a streamlined and efficient staffing service that will be launching a mobile app platform complete with accurate job listings, along with the option for internal payroll to further increase protection and security of an industry I fell in love with almost 30 years ago.

I had a phone call with a wonderful colleague and friend about my plan and she said Seta- “I know you love inspirational quotes & I have the perfect one for you-Maya Angelou says, ‘Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better’.”

And guess what?

That’s EXACTLY what I plan to do.
